Red Mountain Energy has commissioned seven Ajax integral engine-compressors at compressor stations operating in the fields of Hidnovichi, Oposhnya and Komyshnya located in the Lvov and Poltava regions of Ukraine.
The commissioning is set to provide an increase in the natural gas production by 285 million cubic meters per year, which should compensate for the natural decline in gas production at fields which are in advanced stages of depletion. Despite the steady decline in reservoir pressure, natural gas will be supplied to the mainline gas pipelines in the required amount. Production of gas condensate will rise accordingly.
The units are designed to handle raw natural gas using the pumped gas as a fuel. These entirely standalone engine-compressors will run on pumped gas, independent of any external energy sources, complete with local control systems. The units are sheltered, which should simplify considerably the setting-up and operating process.
In February 2010, Red Mountain Energy delivered 16 Ajax compressors to Ukrgazdobycha a major gas producer affiliated to Naftogaz of Ukraine. The commissioning of these compressors will increase the annual gas output by 900 million cubic meters. In June 2010, Red Mountain Energy commissioned 10 units. Startup of the remaining six units is scheduled before the end of this year in the Shebelinskoe and Komarno fields.
